New Books: The Lakota and The Iroquois

The Lakota tribe are sometimes called "Sioux". They prefer the name "Lakota" which means "the people". (This book title will be changed before publication in winter 2003!)

The Iroquois tribes include the Mohawks. The Mohawks helped build the World Trade Center. They helped in the recovery work after 9/11. The Mohawks have helped build tall buildings all over the United States.

Experts from both the Lakota and the Iroquois tribes helped with these books. They checked the information to make sure it is correct. Ione Quigley is an expert for the Lakota. She lives in South Dakota. Rita Chrisjohn Benson lives in New York. She is the expert for the Iroquois book.
